Understanding Why Your Purpose Is Important
Repeat after me: I deserve to be here. God created me for a special purpose. He has great plans for my life; plans to give me a bright, fulfilling life.
Did you know that God can give you what you truly desire? God is able to grant the good desires of our hearts, if we believe that He can and if we ask Him. As we've been discussing purpose, I hope that you remember from previous posts that God created you with great thought. He took time and paid attention to detail when He formed every aspect of your being.
Today's affirmation is all about you realising your potential and fulfilling your purpose as you walk with God. It is true that He has magnificent plans for your life, but they can only be brought to fruition with your obedience. If God is calling you to do something, will you do it?
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." - Jeremiah 29:11.
God does not have bad thoughts or plans for any of His children. He is a wonderful father who always wants to give us His very best even when we don't actually deserve it.
Your special calling - From conception you had a purpose. God already predestined your purpose and your life. We were all born with a set of gifts and talents. Now in order to establish what your gifts are and why you were created you should try to identify what you are good at.
Often your gifts and purpose are linked. Your gifts can be what you are very passionate about, something that you would not be able to go a day without doing. Gifts can even be qualities such as being a good listener or your gift can be a talent, i.e painting, dancing, etc.
If we look at the story of Esther, she was indeed called for such a time as this. Her obedience helped her to save the Jews. God gave Esther influence and wisdom in order to prevent the planned attack to eradicate all Jews. Similarly, you were created for such a time as this. Someone in the world needs to see you using your gift, so that they can know that it is okay for them to use their gifts too.
Using your gifts not only teaches others that the world needs what they've got, but it helps to serve God. You helping others is a benefit all around. It is so selfless to step out and fulfill your God given purpose by encouraging others to do the same.
Can you begin to imagine how Esther felt when she was presented with that situation by Mordecai? She must have felt so terrified! Even when she went before the king, her husband without being summoned she could have been put to death, but after praying and fasting for 3 days and 3 nights, she had the assurance that no matter what, God was on her side.
Put aside fear, put aside trembling and be bold in your purpose. God created you to be something and somebody. Step out of your fear and comfort zone and step into your purpose. I'm rooting for you!
"“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”Jeremiah 1:5.
