Who Can Find A Virtuous Woman?
“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” - Proverbs 31:10.
A virtuous woman is a woman who knows her value is not found in material possessions. She is a woman who seeks to please God daily whilst being led by Him. She finds solace in her Heavenly Father’s loving embrace. She desires to always walk with The Lord refusing to give up her values to follow the world. This virtuous woman is rare, but she is not non-existent. She can be found deep in prayer with God, she confides in Him with all matters of the heart, trusting that He will not lead her astray. She acknowledges that her worth is priceless, she cannot be bought. In order for someone to pursue her they first have to go through her Heavenly Father. She is a woman of standards, of dignity and humility. She is kind, compassionate and loving to all. Although she is strong and not easily broken, her spirit is gentle and quiet. She is a virtuous woman.
King Lemuel’s mother describes a virtuous woman in Proverbs 31. She is indeed a woman of great virtue. She possessed many excellent qualities and characteristics. The beauty of it all was that although she did many things, she always found time to submit to God. God’s presence was evident in this lady’s life because she would not have been able to fulfil her role without His strength and guidance. By following God, the Proverbs 31 woman was able to do a fabulous job.
Many look at her and think that she was perfect and got everything right because scripture does not state the issues she encountered. Nobody here on earth is perfect. Although it is not mentioned, I am sure that this beautiful woman of God encountered her own challenges along the way, but how did she overcome them? Through prayer and believing in God to bring her and her family through every trial.
A virtuous woman’s value is not open for debate because of who she is and how she carries herself, scripture states, ‘her price is far above rubies,’ meaning no amount of money can dictate her value. She is more valuable than diamonds, rubies and pearls. She is more valuable than gold. She knows who she is and what she stands for, she stands for her Heavenly Father. She is a woman of integrity and dignity.
She cannot be found just anywhere because she knows that God would not want her to be in certain places. She only goes where The Lord leads and she understands why she is not called to go everywhere.
This woman is set apart for God’s glory and His divine purpose.
I admire the Proverbs 31 woman because of the above. It is one of my favourite passages in the bible. There is so much mystery surrounding her because the bible does not disclose her features, where she lived or any other detail about her other than what we know of her. The bible explicitly states that she was a woman of virtue, a blessed woman, a woman who her child(ren) and husband were proud of.
I strive daily to live a life of virtue, one pleasing to God and one where my daughter can look up to me as she grows and see me as a role model.
